At Ladder Genie Inc., our mission is simple: make moving materials to rooftops safer, easier, and more practical.

 

We transform the ordinary extension ladder into a versatile material lift designed for real jobsites. Every decision we make is guided by usability, safety, and feedback from the people who actually do the work.

 

Our goal is not to make complicated equipment. It is to build practical tools that help people work smarter, reduce unnecessary strain, and get more out of the equipment they already own.

Our Story

Built From a Real Problem

Ladder Genie™ started in Calgary, Alberta, from a problem familiar to anyone who has worked on a roof: getting heavy materials from the ground to the rooftop safely and efficiently.

 

The idea began in 2019 and quickly became more than a sketch on paper. The goal was to create something portable, practical, and easy to use without requiring a crane, trailer, or permanent lifting system.

 

By 2023, the first 10 prototypes were being tested in the field. Instead of developing the product in isolation, we put it in the hands of tradespeople and listened.

 

What worked?
What didn't?
What could be simpler?
What would make someone actually want to use it every day?

 

That feedback shaped the product.

 

Cables were strengthened. Controls were improved. A second remote was added. Components were refined. In 2025, another round of prototypes went back into the field for further testing and improvement.

 

Today, Ladder Genie™ is the result of years of building, testing, listening, and refining.

 

The objective has stayed the same throughout:

We believe a product only improves safety if people actually want to use it.

 

That means Ladder Genie™ has to do more than work. It has to be practical, convenient, durable, and easy to integrate into a real jobsite.

 

We continue to listen to contractors, roofers, homeowners, and other users because the people using the product often see opportunities that cannot be found on a drawing board.

 

That feedback will continue to shape Ladder Genie™ as we improve the current system and develop what comes next.

Founder & President

Ladder Genie™ was founded by a lifelong builder and entrepreneur whose experience in the trades started alongside his father, a seasoned general contractor in a small town in Ontario.

 

That early exposure created a lasting appreciation for craftsmanship, practical problem-solving, and the realities of working on a jobsite.

 

His path eventually took him to the University of Bridgeport on a Division II baseball scholarship, where he completed a Bachelor's degree in Finance followed by an MBA. He also gained experience in banking before returning to entrepreneurship and construction.

 

In 2013, he launched his own roofing company. Years spent working around roofs made one problem increasingly difficult to ignore: there had to be a better way to move materials up a ladder.

 

Development of Ladder Genie™ began in 2019, followed by years of prototypes, field testing, redesigns, and feedback from industry professionals.

 

What began as a homemade solution to a common roofing problem eventually became Ladder Genie™.

 

Bringing it to market has been a collaborative effort. Contractors, testers, friends, family, and industry professionals have all contributed feedback, ideas, and hands-on support along the way.

 

The result is not just a product designed for the trades. It is a product shaped by them.
